THE DUMPSTER DIVE IS BACK, BABY.

And now for an announcement that needs very little fanfare: You asked for it (and asked for it) and we’re happy to tell you – THE DUMPSTER DIVE IS BACK, BABY.

What’s a Dumpster Dive, you ask? Between prototyping, engineering samples, customer returns, and old stuff that’s been sitting on the shelves for way too long, we’ve collected quite a terrifying pile of electronic excess. Some of it’s one-off, some of it’s a little broken or ugly, and the rest of it’s just not worth individually listing and selling. We didn’t like the idea of recycling it, since it’s all still useful and worth getting into people’s hands. And so behold: the Dumpster Dive.

Once you’ve finished your celebratory dance, here are a few details and rules:

  • There will be two different Dumpster Dive sizes: a half-pound box ($10), and a one-and-a-half-pound box ($20).
  • There will be no backorders allowed, and all boxes are while supplies last only.
  • To give as many people a chance to get a Dumpster Dive as possible, we are capping each order with a maximum of one of each size box.

In the past, our Dumpster Dives have sold out in a matter of minutes, so if you’re interested in getting your claws on a SparkFun Sundry Surprise, set a phone alarm/take the day off/train your dog to bark at noon on the dot – whatever it takes. We’ll update the site with links and more information on the 12th; all you have to do in the meantime is clear some space on your workbench. See you then!
