Not finds, but charged with theft.

Dumpster diving last night and police came. The arrested and charged us with theft under 5000????

The dumpster was in an open area at the side of the building. There are no private property signs and no trust passing signs posted. I’m not sure what to do at this point. Any advice would help. Ontario canada
